The washing process generates slimes consisting of the waste water from the wash plant and the minus 75 micron particles removed from the feed material. The slimes from the washing plant contain the liberated contaminants such as Alumina and Silica. The process of removing the minus 75 micron material also results in iron ore fines in this size range being present in the slimes.
It is possible to recover a proportion of these Iron-ore fines through our Slime Beneficiation systems (NanoWash). This system can be be with or without a magnetic separator depending on the quality of slimes. Our previous project experience has shown that almost 50% of the iron particles can be recovered through the system with acceptable grades for downstream processes.
This can improve the overall yield by 5-10% of the CDE Washing plant as well as reduce the Fe losses in the final tailings, which enables meeting environmental norms prevailing in the country.
